My family has been camping in this area for the last 20 years. I have grown up hiking around these mountains and thought the 1205 road would be the perfect spot for a cache. My dad and his friends refer to this chunk of land as the "island" because the 1205 road loops around, making an island of land. Although I drive by this area almost every week, there is nothing like camping up there as a family. I placed this cache with the assistance of eight geo-tweens, so hopefully you will enjoy finding this as much as they enjoyed placing it!
The cache is a large ammo box and is hidden off the trail a short walk (less than five mintues) from the parking coordinates. Drive up the paved road from clearlake onto the gravel road, which heads in the direction of Section 3 lake. Whenever the road forks, keep to the right on the 1205 road. Park at the coordinates 46.36.466 121.36.466. Use the trail to the left.
