Peter Pond was a soldier from Connecticut, a fur trader, a founding member of the North West Company, an explorer and cartographer(map maker). The first establishment in this area was a trading post that he started in 1776. This area is now named after him. He left this location in 1778 to open up the fur trade in the Athabasca region.
Cache contains a log book and small pencil.
