VELMI POZORNE CTETE TENTO LISTING:
Bechyne mela od zacatku 20. stoleti zeleznicni spojeni s Taborem, ale draha koncila na levem brehu Luznice. Od dvacatych let se stale nalehaveji projevovala potreba noveho spojeni obou brehu reky, kdyz stary zelezny most v Zareci jiz nevyhovoval. V zari 1924 bylo ing. Eduardu Viktorovi zadano zpracovani detailniho projektu mostu s prodlouzenim elektricke drahy do Bechyne. S pripravnymi pracemi bylo zapocato v kvetnu 1926 a stavba byla dokoncena v lete 1928.

Zamestnano na ni bylo 400 delniku, pro beton byl pouzit pisek z Luznice a sterk z nedalekeho kamenolomu Cermak. V prubehu cele stavby neprisel nikdo o zivot a nedoslo ani k zadnemu vaznejsimu urazu.

Most byl slavnostne otevren 28. rijna 1928 k 10. vyroci samostatnosti republiky. Mostni konstrukce je zelezobetonova. Vyska mostu od hladiny je 50 m, jeho celkova delka je 203,38 m. Na celkovych nakladech 5 000 000 Kc se podilel stat 50%, zeme 20% a mesto 30%. V roce 2004 probehla celkova rekonstrukce mostu.

Z mostu uvidite vetsinu bechynskych pamatek (zamek, klaster, kostel), ve meste je nekolik restauraci a pizzerii.
CTETE POZORNE: Kes v minulosti jiz byla vyloupena a je proto zamerne umistena stranou turistickeho ruchu a skutecne od ní NIC VIDET NENI!!! Vyhlizime tedy z mostu a z vyhlidky!

RAINBOW BRIDGE
The railway connection Tabor – Bechyne was built at the beginning of the 20th century but the track ended on the left bank of the river Luznice. In the early 1920s there was a strong need to connect both banks of the river as the old bridge in Zareci wasn´t big enough. In September 1924 Eduard Viktora was set a task to design a detailed project of the bridge. Construction work started in May 1926 and finished in summer 1928. Over 400 builders worked here, no one either lost his life or was seriously injured. Sand for making concrete was from the river Luznice, gravel from a nearby quarry. The bridge has a ferroconcrete construction. The height is 50 m, the overall lenght is 203,38 m. The bridge was reconstructed in 2004. Do not forget to visit the viewpoint (see waypoint). You can see most sights of Bechyne from the bridge (the chateau, the monastery, the church), there are some good restaurants and pizzerias to have lunch in.
