Geocache Description:

This cache is located on the American Chestnut Land Trust property at Double Oak Farm.

This is our 1st cache hide. We started geocaching to get the family out of the house. We like caches of all types, yet the caches that get a “thumbs up!” from all the members of our team are the caches that take us to new trails and out of the way places we would not have visited before geocaching. We also like looking at all of the trades in a cache; we don’t always trade, but always have fun seeing what there is to trade. That is why our 1st hide is a cache that will take you to a place with some great trails and is chock full of a variety of trades (hence the cache name, but we couldn’t fit the kitchen sink in the cache).

This cache is park approved and located on land held by the American Chestnut Land Trust within the Parkers Creek watershed. The cache is located off the Overlook Trail at Double Oak Farm. See the trail map. Trails are open 365 days a year from dawn to dusk. Please note that this property is used for hunting during different hunting seasons and some trails could be closed to all but hunters. There is no hunting allowed on Sundays; all trails are open for hiking from dawn to dusk on Sundays even during hunting seasons.

To get to Double Oak Farm, go 2 miles east on Dares Beach Road from the light on Route 2-4 in Prince Frederick. Turn right onto Double Oak Road. Drive 1 mile and turn left onto the gravel road just past the "Road Ends 500 Ft" sign. Drive past the house to the parking area.

Parking for this cache can be found at N38° 32.828 W076° 31.991. Please park ONLY at the designated parking area; do NOT park on the side of Double Oak Road nor along the lane leading to the parking. Trail maps and a sign-in sheet are available at the main parking area. Please adhere to all ACLT rules and enjoy your visit.

Walk back along the lane to the Overlook Trail trailhead located at N38° 32.920 W076° 32.109. There is a small sign pointing the way. The cache is a large, 5.5 liter, clear Lock & Lock container that originally contained:
