This cache is hidden in a C.O.E park that has seen better days. The
boat ramp is open but that's about it. The whole place is grown
over and was a quiet out-of-the-way place to enjoy many years ago.
The campsites are still here but you can't hardly see where they
are.
Now every once in awhile we like to have an easy ammo can cache to
brighten our day. This cache would normally be an easy one under
better circumstances, but there were several things working against
the odds here. Number 1 is the high concentration of canopy in this
park making your GPSr act erratic and uncertain. Number 2 is that
this is headquarters of the Arkansas State Bird....the MOE-SKEETO!
We've seen big enough skeeters in here that when they work in
flying squadrons they have been known to fly off with small kids
and animals. And of course the reason for the name of this cache is
b/c of all the poison ivy. It's everywhere and is hard to avoid.
Other than that, this is a standard run of the mill hide in the
woods technique(s). We think you will find this cache best by using
the old "Stand in the road waiting to get a good fix on the
satellites so you can know where to go next" method of hunting. We
can tell you this much to help. The cache is about 70 feet NORTH of
