This is cache 4/18 of the Tolkien series. Instructions below are from cache 3/18 - 4/18.
Departing from Hodder Place on your right, the path now descends towards the river. Herons can be seen along this stretch of river. Go through the stile at the bottom of the hill to emerge from the woodland on to a wide, surfaced track. You will now follow the river as it curves gently round to the right. This is a great place for a paddle and a picnic. Continue to follow the river bend.
Where the track meets the main road at Lower Hodder Bridge, cross over the road, pausing to admire Cromwell's Bridge just a little downstream. But dont go over the bridge, cache 4/18 is close at hand.
