Blackbrook Tram Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ikcdab: Several recent reports have shown that this one is now past its best. As I am no longer living in the area cannot get in to maintain it, i think its probably best to put it out of its misery and to archive it now.

Geocache Description:

A trip to the Blackbrook Steam in Taunton. A straightforward cache easily accessible along a well-made path.

The Blackbrook estate is on the south edge of Taunton. The tiny Blackbrook Stream bisects the estate and forms an oasis of green among the suburbs with trees and wildlife. If you are lucky you will see squirrels, voles and other small mammals and birds.

You will need to leave the main cycleway and venture 'off piste', though the cache is directly reachable from the trail. It is NOT necessary to cross the stream nor is it necessary to tackle any boggy areas. There is heavy tree cover, but I managed to get a good signal near the cache site.

You are looking for a small tin that contains a logbook and pencil. The tin is big enough to hold the usual trinkets and swop items, but I couldn't find any when I made up the cache so it is ready for you to leave something.

There is loads of parking, but the best is at 51°00.820N 3°04.642W where it is free and near shops and a pub. The cache is roughly 500 yards from this location.
