Geocache Description:

This cache celebrates the nearby remains of Warblington Castle which can be seen across the fields.

Warblington Castle was a fortified brick and stone manor house built between 1515 and 1525. Only one of the two turrets of the main gate remains after almost total destruction in the Civil War in 1644. The reminder of the square building which had a tower in each corner has been used as building material. Public access to the castle is not available but it is close to Warblington Church which is worth a visit.

Access is via a footpath that runs down to the shoreline and this cache can be combined with three others: Roar of the Cache #3 (GC138WW); Roots of the Castle (GC138X4) and Dog Collar (GCQR44)for an enjoyable walk.

NB. Please cover the cache with leaf debris and sticks to ensure it stays hidden from muggles.
