Geocache Description:

The cache is placed at the edge of the forest near the hiker house at Matrahidegkut. Suggested way of approach on the yellow signed path from Matrakeresztes.

The cache has been hidden at the border of Heves county and Nograd county at the edge of a forest bordered by a nice field. We have chosen this point for the place of our first cache because we spent several days at several times here, far from the noise of world in the tourist house similar to the house in the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel. The suggested way of approach is from Matrakeresztes on the yellow signed path. Leave your car in the parking lot (PARK1) close to the upper end of the village and turn right onto the street Kekesi first then turn right again onto Tohegyes street. Follow the yellow sign up to the mount until you reach the tourist house. This takes about 1 hour from Matrakeresztes even for kids. There is a more more difficult way of approach for mountain-bikers from Gyongyos. Go towards Gyöngyösoroszi-Karolytaro. Turn left up to the mount at the coordinates of MB1 and ride until coordinates of MB2 where turn left again. Follow the road in the forest until coordinates MB3 where you will reach the yellow signed path. Follow the sign from here down to the valley until the tourist house. This will take about 2-3 hours from Gyöngyös depending on your fitness. From this direction I rather give 4 to the difficulty level because of the length and the condition of the forest-road, forest although it would not be an issue for bikers who already took some ride in forests.
