Geocache Description:

The cache is located in the Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust in Orland ,Maine. This 4000 acre trust is truly beautiful and a great place to visit and geocache. Please check out the web address for more information. The cache is located on Flagg Hill.Access to the cache is as follows: The south gate : 44,34.092n and 068,37.914w provides excellent parking. Approximately 2.5 miles north on the dirt road ,the Flagg Hill Road: coordinates:44, 36.230n and 068,38.318w will be on your right. From this point , the cache is located in a round about way heading east for about 1.5 miles. Please stay on the road and trail system marked in blue paint. The land owners requested the following:1.Please do not walk across the moss or alpine plants. The vegetation is fragile: The cache is hidden to abide to this. 2.This is a long walk from the gate. The gate is often open on weekends in July, see the website for details. I used my mountain bike from the gate to Flagg Hill then walked to the cache. The views are outstanding and well worth the effort. The cache is a traditional 7mm ammo can with a gold coin, log book and lots of space. It could be somewhat difficult finding in winter. Please follow the land trust rules and have great time. Groleau
