Il cache è posizionato lungo il letto del
fiume Savio. Qui potete trovare alcune note sul fiume
(
vedi link).
La location è stata scelta per il
paesaggio e la particolarità della roccia, che assume forme curiose
e si presenta con colorazioni spettacolari, soprattutto nelle
giornate soleggiate o quando la luce è satura.
Si tratta di una passeggiata avventurosa da
effettuare saltando di masso in masso fino a destinazione. Per tale
motivo, è bene avere in macchina un paio di stivali, che magari non
userete, ma se l'acqua fosse alta, potrebbero decisamente tornare
utili.
Data la particolarità del luogo, sono
importanti alcune raccomandazioni:
Periodo di caccia
Il cache è
raggiungibile solo percorrendo il letto del fiume, per cui la
stagione migliore è chiaramente quella calda, quando l'acqua non è
troppo alta. Evitate assolutamente le giornate piovose! Come
sapete, la percorrenza dei fiumi è sempre subordinata al pericolo
di piene improvvise. Siete nei pressi della diga di Quarto, per cui
la prudenza è fondamentale.
Abbigliamento
Per gli stessi motivi, prevedere sempre un cambio a portata di mano
in caso doveste bagnarvi. Procuratevi possibilmente anche un paio
di scarpe comode da trekking. Non sono fondamentali, ma chiaramente
aiutano le caviglie.
Per i più avventurosi il cache è
raggiungibile anche in canoa dal vicino imbarco (N 43° 53,526' - E
012° 05.749'), ma in questo caso evitate accuratamente le
"secche"... Dovete naturalmente portare voi la canoa.
Da Santa Sofia percorrendo la strada verso
Bagno di Romagna, poco prima di Quarto svoltate a sinistra in Via
Porto Vecchio e proseguite fino a un piccolissimo spiazzo per
parcheggiare la macchina (N. 43° 53.502' - E 012° 05.694'). Se
avete un fuoristrada, potete parcheggiare anche nello spiazzo
dell'imbarco canoe (non attrezzato), ma fate molta attenzione: la
strada è uno sterrato dissestatissimo e se il mezzo è basso
rischiate di danneggiarlo. Dal parcheggio attivate il GPS e
cominciate la "traversata". Vi occorreranno circa 15 minuti per
arrivare a Ground Zero, camminando senza fretta.
Il cache è un
classico contenitore da alimenti di medie dimensioni (15cm x
15cm).

The hiding-place has been chosen for the
landscape and peculiarity of the rocks, which assume curious shapes
and appear with spectacular colours, especially during sunny days
or when the light is saturated.
It's an adventurous walk jumping from rock to
rock until you arrive at the destination. For
this reason, you'd better have a pair of boots in your car. Maybe
you're not gonna use 'em, but in case of high water, they might
become useful.
Because of the peculiarity of the place, some
advice is quite important:
Hunting period
You can reach the cache only by walking along the riverbed,
therefore the better season is the hotter one, when the water is
not too high. Absolutely avoid rainy days to avoid unexpected
floods! You are close to the Quarto Dam, so caution is
essential.
Clothing
For the same reasons, always have a change of linen with you in
case you get wet. Manage to also have a pair of comfortable
trekking shoes. They are not required, but they can certanly save
your ankles.
Adventurous people can also reach the cache
with a kayak. Just park the car at N 43° 53,526' - E 012° 05.749'.
You need to have your own kayak. In this case avoid the
dryness...
From Santa Sofia driving toward Bagno di
Romagna, just before Quarto, turn left when you see Via Porto
Vecchio, then go on until you see a very small parking space where
you can leave your car (N. 43° 53.502' - E 012° 05.694'). If you
have a jeep, you can also go down as far as the kayak parking
place, but be very careful: it's dirt and quite uneven. If your car
is too low you might damage it. From the parking place activate
your GPS device and start your "crossing". It's going to take you
about 15 minutes to walk to Ground Zero (walking without
hurrying).
The cache is a classic medium size food container (15cm x
15cm).
It contains:

- 1 "Pinocchio" key ring

- A protective plastic bag for supplies
- Silica gel envelopes
- A logbook, info and pencil
