Solve the equation and find the cache.
To discover the co-ordinates of the final cache, an intermediate waypoint must be found. This waypoint is at location S45° CG.GOG E170° EA.HEE.
The values of these letters, A, C, E, G, H, O, can be figured out by working out the following sum:

The co-ordinates given (S 45° 50.666 E 170° 32.347) will lead you to a sign on a gate. This sign consists of two parts: count the number of times the letters P, I, N, or E are used on each part and multiply them together. The resulting number can be represented by the letters EC. EC can alternatively be worked out by multiplying pinus by radiata.
The waypoint will require some strategy to actually get to without going on private property. Google maps may actually help more than a GPS at first.
It will probably be difficult to get a good GPS fix at the location of the final and the terrain can be quite muddy at times. It is a nice place to go for a walk though and the children will enjoy exploring the park. At the location of the cache one can look up the bank and see two Pine trees, one to each side. Please replace cache behind the root.
