From 1874 to 1881, sometimes up to $200,000 worth of gold traveled this route per day. Today, this 158-mile byway along U.S. Highway 385 belongs to one of the most scenic and historic roads in the nation—the CANAM Highway, spanning from Canada to Mexico.
Quick find off the highway - cache is located within 10 feet of parking. Cache is a small jar. Bring your own pencil
WATCH YOUR STEP!!! - there is a culvert directly to the west of the cache which is covered with tall grass so you don't know it's there. The best way is to walk down a bit south of the tree.
