Geocache Description:

The small tupperware Cache is situated close to the river Stour in public gardens. This could be completed as a 'Cache and Dash' if required or would be perfect as part of a day out on Hengistbury Head.

The camouflaged airtight tupperware cache is small in size however big enough to contain items including travel bugs and a number of nic nacs placed in by my three delightful kids! Feel free to swap.

AFter parking at the public car park in Wick Gardens The author took the time to complete a River side walk, continuing on to Hengistbury Head through 'The Old Pit' nature reserve, jumped on the 'noddy train' after a small lunch at the local cafe returning to base via a historic riverside journey along the river stour on a wonderful old wooden vessel. Lovely!!

Hengistbury Head is a scenic headland near by to Christchurch and Bournemouth, Dorset. The area has a long rich history with a focal point being the iron age defences called the Double Dykes. A major problem for the area is it's ontinuing fight against erosion that threatens this coast.

Local areas of interest include Stanpit Marsh and Steamer Point, which with Hengistbury Head form an integral set
of nature reserves around Christchurch Harbour and are all designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest ( SSSI ).

The cache is a little 'precariously' placed as you'll find out so please be careful when returning it to it's location. Have fun looking and do take the time to enjoy this beautiful area.

Please respect the rules of the nature reserves locally if you take advantage of these.
