Vronda Monastery is the oldest monastery of Samos. Along with some of the woodlands it suffered a devastating fire in the year 2000. Now major restoration works have been initiated. The view from the monstery is magnificent - and the narrow road up and up to the monastery lets you enjoy many wonderful sceneries of nature. This cache has "Sotigirl & Komodo"as special friends, as they kindly looked after the cache, and placed a new log book, October 2010:-))

From the parking place the distance to the cache is app. 300 meters. You have to follow a path, starting as a concrete path and starting app. 50 meters north-east of the monastery´s entrance.
Beware of your head when bowing under the fallen trees on your way to the cache. The path does not lead all the way to the cache - you have to do some serious geocaching yourself!
You shall find the cache placed under five green stones (yes - they are indeed green.....)

Small note on cache maintenance: since 2003 we have spent 7- 8 weeeks every year (spread over 3-4 visits per year) in Samos. Samos is totally wellknown to us.
