Geocache Description:

This Gathering takes place on Saturday, October 13,2007, the right time for Fall colors!

PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE DESCRIPTION AND NOTE IT WILL HAVE ADDITIONS ETC. AS THE DATE DRAWS NEARER!
It will be held in Letchworth Sate Park in the same Pavilion as last year. There is a large parking lot with RestRooms near the Pavilion. TO VISIT THIS CACHE AGAIN USE ZIPCODE 14530.

The Park opens at 6 AM and closes at 10 PM. There is an entrance fee per car. If you want to camp or rent a cabin in the Park call 1-800-456-2267, (NOTE: SOME CAMPERS HAVE INDICATED THEY ARE RENTING IN THE 200 LOOP AND OTHERS HAVE INDICATED RENTING IN THE 300 LOOP, CHECK THEIR LOGS.) or the Highbanks Tent and Trailer (camping) 237-3303. There are campgrounds and Motels outside the park in Mt. Morris & Perry etc. THERE ARE RESTRICTIONS REGARDING PETS; short leash, proof of shots, etc. PETS ARE PROHIBITED FROM ALL PARK BUILDINGS INCLUDING THE PAVILION, CABINS, CABIN AREAS, AND POOL AREAS.
NO PETS ARE ALLOWED AT THE GATHERING!!

The Pavilion, South Highbanks, is near the Mt. Morris Entrance in the area of the Swimming Pool. It has a capacity of 184 people, there are 23 tables. There are 8 grills in a covered vented area attached to the enclosed Pavilion. There are at least 5 or 6 electric outlets. At least 2 are required for coffee & Hot water. There is running water just outside the Pavilion. There is a huge fireplace inside at one end; we WILL NEED a donation of firewood; Brogan is unable to attend this year. There is a large play area with playground equipment for kids.

In the past some early birds have had breakfast,If you are interested, log on and let us know before October 12. Only one or two have expressed an interest so far. This is a do it yourself situation. The shelter and it's facilities are available. I will get there as early as I can.

Lunch starts about Noon. Everyone brings a "dish to share" or some contribution such as hot dogs, hamburgers, rolls, charcoal & charcoal starter, (we have a donation of 2 large bags of charcoal & starter). You will also be expected to HELP COOK THE HOTS AND HAMBURGERS FOR YOUR FAMILY AND OTHERS. When you log on tell us HOW MANY will be in your group and what you will contribute to eat etc. The food so far is:

80 HAMBURGERS, 5 LBS.+ HOTDOGS, 80 HAMBURG ROLLS, HOT DOG ROLLS, SALT POTATOS, MACARONI SALAD, BROCCOLI SALAD, 2 FRUIT SALADS, GREEN SALAD, COLE SLAW, PASTA SALAD, 2 SEAFOOD SALAD/TUNA SALADS, CALICO BAKED BEANS, GOULASH, 3 POTS OF CHILI, SOME "UNKNOWN" SIDE DISHES, DEVILED EGGS, REVEL BARS, PEANUTBUTTER RICE CRISPY BARS, BROWNIES, COOKIES, FRESH APPLE PIES, DESSERT, WATERMELON PICKLES, AND A VARIETY OF CHIPS, 3 COFFEE POTS & REGULAR & DECAF. COFFEE, SUGAR, MILK, EXTENSION CORDS, COOKING UTENSILS, WATER, SODA, WINE, AND A VARIETY OF OTHER BEVERAGES, 2 CATSUP, 2 MUSTARD & RELISH.

I will keep this site updated with food contributions etc. as time draws nearer and cachers log on.
The Picnic itself is usually over by 4 or 4:30 PM.

As in the past we have some great "For the Gathering Only" caches hidden by KillerB -(2 ADULT & 2 KIDS) & Brogan With COORDINATES POSTED AT THE GATHERING SITE AT 9 AM THAT DAY,PRIZES AWARDED AT ABOUT 3 PM. SEE KILLERB'S LOGS ON 10/12.
THIS YEAR WE WILL AGAIN HAVE PRIZES TO RAFFLE OFF:( 1 GARMIN FORETREX 201 GPS, 1 GARMIN E-TREX LEGEND GPS, 2 SMALL MULTI TOOL PLIERS, 4 GANDER MT FOLDING CAMP CHAIRS, 3 BALL on a pin COMPASSES, 2 POCKET SPRAYERS OF "DEEP WOODS OFF", 1 MINI MAGLITE SOLITAIRE, 1 "GO WALKING" PEDOMETER, A GEOWOODSTOCK COIN. PALEOMAN HAS ALSO OFFERED A HANDMADE STONE KNIFE FOR THE RAFFLE!
A group picture is usually taken after lunch about 1 or 1:30. There is usually a Bon-Fire or gathering of some sort that night in the camping area, CHECK JUNE 6 LOG BY "SNEEKYPETE00"; AN OFFER OF A CAMPFIRE BY HIS PARK CABIN COO1, IF THAT IS POSSIBLE. TOPHER & SAPSAJ SITE 327 HAVE OFFERED TO HAVE A SATURDAY NIGHT CAMPFIRE. THE EVILONES ARE ALSO WILLING TO HAVE A SATURDAY NIGHT CAMPFIRE AT SITE 316.

We expect to have much fun meeting our fellow cachers! I know there are a lot of Newbies! Pictures from the past to share are welcome!

NOTE: What we carry in we must carry out, so help with clean up is assumed, I have many large black plastic bags from the past to share. We will allow some alcohol in moderation for adults as before. (I had to sign a special permit for that.) The State Trooper Barracks are right next door, so watch your step. (Hee Hee!)

You are on your own with Travel Bugs, bring them and trade among yourselves.
