Continuing our tradition of stealing great ideas from other places that we've gone caching, we are pleased to present the Western MA Pocket Park series.

One of the best aspects of living here in western MA is the wonderful mix of rural, suburban and urban landscapes. And in every urban and suburban area are pocket parks, isolated oases of green surrounded by asphalt and brick, memorials to half-forgotten local heroes, old ballfields and broken basketball courts. Every city has places like these.

This series is for them.

The fifth installment of this series brings you to the Chicopee War Memorial Park, adjacent to the old high school. Like many similar parks, there are small memorials to multiple past wars and conflicts, but oddly nowhere to sit.Cache is a micro, and right off of a busy road, but unlike most of our previous caches in this series, this park doesn't get a lot of visitors.
