This cache is one of a three-part series. To find the first cache,
Aquila, you must solve the puzzle. Inside this cache you will find
the coordinates to the second cache (Cygnus). Within the second
will be the coordinates to the third cache (Lyra). All info and
hints for each separate cache will be found on its own cache page.
Be sure to print those and bring them along on your journey. The
reward for solving this cache will be three smilies... and a nice
long walk! GOOD LUCK!
Now here’s the tough part:
While perusing a friend’s collection of old books, I found a
curious group of folded papers tucked in a book called, La Cifra
Del. Sig. Giovan Batista Belaso. There were three papers in all.
Two were old constellation plates with three names circled.
The third was a paper with some sort of message written within a
yellow triangle.
I wasn’t sure what to make of it. I studied the papers for
months. I consulted friends, astronomers, philosophers, I even
asked Jeeves! I tried asking my dog for help, too. I was seeing
stars! It wasn’t until I stopped making things harder than they
needed to be when things started to shape up. I looked at all the
papers once more and it all made sense. I puzzled it out and headed
off to find Aquila.
You will be looking for a 30 cal. ammobox stocked with the usual
trinkets hidden about 25 feet off the trail. The coordinates to and
info about the next cache, Cygnus, are written on the back of the
logbook. Because of the cache’s proximity to the trail, please
re-hide it very well
