Geocache Description:

Located between Junctions 13 and 14 of the M40. Easy cache and dash.
Parking for one car within 10m of cache.

Motorway Mayhem caches are intended to provide fairly easy drive-by caches together with useful “just-off” motorway information for travellers who are in need of a break or seek alternatives to the typical motorway service station type fare and prices. It is hoped this series and concept will grow as other cachers add further caches along the length and breadth of Britain’s Motorways

Back to a micro
Having been muggled this cache is now back as a typical Motorway Mayhem micro. If it survives it may be upgraded to a TB Hotel again

This cache can be approached from either direction however please note that these two junctions are both limited access, i.e. you either exit at 13 and rejoin at 14 (Northbound) or exit at 14 and rejoin at 13 (Southbound).

For NORTHBOUND:
Exit at Junction 13.
At the top of the sliproad TURN RIGHT (TAKE CARE this is a T-junction, NOT a roundabout!!).
Follow road to Roundabout, keep left.
Take FIRST EXIT (A452 Warwick Bypass).
Follow road to Roundabout. Take FIRST EXIT rejoining M40 at Junction 14.

For SOUTHBOUND:
Exit at Junction 14.
At end of sliproad take FIRST EXIT at Roundabout.
Follow road to Roundabout, keep right.
Take THIRD EXIT (A452 Banbury Road).
Follow road for approx 1 mile, looking for sliproad on left, rejoining M40 at Junction 13.

Burger vans can usually be found in lay-bys on both sides of the road on the Warwick Bypass (Junction 14 end of A452), otherwise you are in the middle of Warwickshire countryside, so if you want more than a burger, and time permits, you need to take a detour towards Leamington Spa itself (take the "other" bit of the A452 - Europa Way - from the roundabout!)
Fuel is also available from Sainsbury at Shire’s Retail Park, Europa Way (see Additional Waypoint, below).

If you do have time to explore, continue onto the B4100 from Junction 13 (turn left if exiting Northbound, or ignore sliproad rejoining motorway if Southbound). Continue down this road until you reach a roundabout.

The first exit is the B4455 – the Fosse Way which is a Roman road linking Exeter and Lincoln. It is the only Roman road in Britain to retain its Latin name, and is never more than 6 miles from a straight line!
If you do go this way, check out a map - it is possible to rejoin the motorway here via the Services' local access roads!
