The above co-ordinates are for
the start of this pleasant 1½ mile walk along footpaths and
quiet country lanes. The final cache can be found
at:-
N 52 31.901
E 001 12.657
When you are getting close to the cache please go
past the 'goal posts' before approaching the area.
Due to the nature of the walk the area
will be very
muddy in places after rain.
The walk passes through a calcareous spring fed
fen, which has been created when springs emerge from the
valley's sides bearing base-rich waters from the underlying chalk
below, creating a rare habitat. This calcareous spring fed fen is
one of the best examples in Norfolk. On the higher area of
the fen there is unimproved pasture which includes a number of
species characteristic of chalk grassland.
