Geocache Description:

A well camoflauged sandwich size lock 'n lock container. Will required keen eyesight and patience. FTF prize is an unactivated geocoin.

This cache is part of a series named for Greek and Roman deities - celebrating the various aspects of geocaching using the personalities ascribed to the gods by the ancients. Argus was a creature in greek mythology who had a hundred eyes. This cache is for geocachers who enjoy looking for a needle in a haystack - this cache requires patience and a keen eye (a hundred keen eyes wouldn't hurt).

Hera set the hundred-eyed Argus to watch Io, a girl seduced by Zeus and then turned into a cow. Only some of Argus' eyes slept at any one time, so while Argus was on guard Zeus could not rescue Io. Zeus got Hermes to put Argus to sleep by playing music or telling boring stories - then Hermes killed Argus and Io was freed. Hera rewarded Argus by placing his eyes in the tail of the peacock.
