Geocache Description:


The DHARMA Initiative geocache series is based off the ABC television show LOST. After a commercial airline jet crashes on an island, the survivors are forced to fend off the island’s dangerous inhabitants (“The Others”) while trying to solve the complex mysteries they discover on the island. One of these mysteries is that of the DHARMA Initiative. A number of hidden stations were discovered around the island; stations that the survivors came to learn were from a scientific research project called the DHARMA Initiative. These stations served different purposes- medical research, zoological study, psychological and parapsychological research, electromagnetism study, etc. While the members of DHARMA all appear to have been killed by The Others, some of the stations still function, and have played a very large part in the plotlines of the show.



STATION TWO- THE STAFF
This was the DHARMA Initiative’s medical station, complete with operating room, ultrasound machine, and nursery. A pregnant passenger from the crashed jet was kidnapped by The Others and taken to this station. After escaping, she led a team of the survivors back to the station, hoping to find medicine and an answer as to why she was kidnapped. They found the station empty and abandoned.

In keeping with my hiding these “stations” in a way somehow related to its identity, the cache container for “The Staff” is a first aid kit containing the log sheet (please write small on the log sheet, try to take no more than a line of two!). It has been covered with camo-tape, and hidden somewhere in Baldwin City Park near Spring Creek Lake, southeast of Baldwin City. If you are in need of some first aid, I have left some first aid supplies in the container, double-ziploc’d to stay dry. Feel free to take what you need, and if you have any extra supplies you would like to leave for the next cacher, please feel free to do so! And beware the gaze of any Others who might be watching you from the park! Namaste!
