Cache is located in a 1999 forest fire area off Highway 17
In 1999, a major forest fire, started by sparks from a passing train, burnt thousands of hectares of forest between the Town of White River and White Lake, It started south of the highway and quickly spread north, over the highway to destroy valuable forest. The burnt out area was visible in satellite photos.
The area where the cache is located is called the Crocker Lake Fire Renewal - Project 322-2-R9. Thousands of Jackpine trees were planted in the area. The trees have grown well and are now about 2 metres high.
The cache is a small camouflaged lock-n-lock container with the following original contents: 1 old British half penny, 1 old British penny, compass keychain, logbook and pencil. Please return the container to the original location. The cache will be accessible during the winter.
