Geocache Description:

Small cache on the coast path between Aberystwyth and Borth

This is small cache on the coast path between Clarach and Wallog. The cache container is a small plastic container with just enough room for some small swaps.

Access is easy from both Clarach or Wallog along the coast path which isn't particularly steep along this section. The cache location provides excellent views over Sarn Cynfelin a strange rocky causeway that extends out to sea from the secluded beach of Wallog.

Sarn Cynfelin is believed to be a glacial moraine left after the retreat of glaciers during the last ice age. Legend has it that Sarn Cynfelin is one of several ancient causeways to the lost lands of Cantre'r Gwaelod (The lost lands of Wales).

Also of interest in the region is the restored single pot kiln on the beach at Wallog. I'd also recommend a walk along the rocks at beach level for some excellent rock-pooling. A perfect place to while away the days in quiet contemplation and exploration.

Don't forget to let the aber-cachers know if you find this cache as this is smack bang in the middle of where most of them cahce most of the time.
