Geocache Description:

Troop 448 cache theme is scouting. Please place items that have anything to do with Boy (or Girl) Scouts. They can be patches, awards, badges, scarves, and items with the logos on them. They can be pocket knives, silverware, small collectables, or tools, and they can be new or used. Items will need to fit in the 1.5 QT snap tight container.

The cache was placed here to promote Boy Scouting and all the aspects great about the organization. One of the side effects will be getting people on the trails and looking for all the other caches stashed around the mountain. The Boy Scout Troop 448 in located in Renton and is active in all kinds of scouting events. The boys and adult leaders enjoy spending time hiking, camping, orienteering, many sports, and service projects. Be careful with all the bicyclists and hikers on the trail. To find the cache, go to the Tiger Summit Trailhead parking lot (Need a WA Discover Parking Pass). The trail to the cache is up the dirt road from WA State Highway 18. It is on the Tiger Mountain State Forest land that is managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. Newly logged land below the cache will support Washington State Schools. From the parking lot, take the Northwest Timber, Preston Railroad, and the Connector Trail to Iverson Railroad Trail. The trail heads to the left from the parking lot onto the Iverson Railroad trail. If you cross a bridge in less than 200 feet, that is the incorrect way. The main trail has been redirected numerous times to stop elevation gain and heads west. There is little under growth and you can see the OLD trail covered with downed tree branches from the location of the waypoint. The Troop 448 is a 1.0-Quart container, a four snap lid with a green Official Geocache.com sticker on the outside. Original contents included a log book, small gift for the "first finder," toy McDonald’s ESPN game, a Ninja Pathtag, sandwich bag with scout patches (i.e. Aurora District Camporee 2003), “You’re Only Green Once” Green River District Roundtable scarf slide, Chief Slide COPY Travel Bug, and a number of other Travel Bugs and Geo-coins. Congratulations to "LandRover" for being FTF.
