"I see da nine" Geocoin Addicts' Hoard Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Wizard of Ooze: Hello,
I’m a volunteer reviewer for geocaching.com. In a routine check of area caches, I see that your cache has been under the weather for an extended period of time. The geocaching guidelines include a section on disabled caches: http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachemaintenance

You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to ensure it is in proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.), or posts a Needs Maintenance log. Temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have addressed the problem. You are permitted a reasonable amount of time – generally up to 4 weeks – in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing. If you decide not to replace a missing cache, please archive the listing.

I’ve archived your listing to make way for new, active caches to be placed. If you would like to resubmit a new cache at the location, please feel free to do so and it will be reviewed according to the current geocaching guidelines.

Thank you for your contribution to geocaching,

Geocache Description:

Cache is not located at the posted coordinates, but within 2 km. Actual coordinates can be deduced from the story. Use whole numbers; ignore any decimal places. You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.

"My uncle was a brilliant doctor by all accounts, but was also a bit eccentric in some ways. For example, he had a deep mistrust of banking institutions and so it was rumored that he hid his wealth like a pirate in some secret location. In addition, he always believed that he could think better and clearer when he was at higher altitudes; hence, his penchant for rock climbing. One day, he called me out of the blue. His voice was wracked with pain. He explained that he had been climbing the stone façade on the outside of his church just for practice when he lost his hold and fell some 40 feet. He felt that he couldn’t make it and that he needed to share a secret with me before his inevitable demise. He confirmed that he had hidden a stash of treasure nearby and that the coordinates to it were on his medic-alert bracelet. A long pause ensued and I could hear him struggling for air. With his last breath he mumbled something like “I see da nine, I see da nine….”. My phone went silent and that was the last time I would ever hear him again. After the funeral, I was given his personal belongings including his medic-alert bracelet. I went home to examine it, but found no coordinates on it. Instead, I found the following inscriptions:

Chronic Bronchitis, Acquired Hypothyroidism, Spontaneous Pneumothorax, Sexual and gender identity disorder, Malignant neoplasm of brain

I always thought that my uncle (?aunt) was the epitomy of health, but perhaps I was mistaken... I’ve been stumped by the mystery of my uncle’s treasure stash for some time now. Perhaps you can help me out?"

The cache is a 500mL camouflaged Lock & Lock container. Beware overhead foliage may cause signal fluctuation. Some spider webs - yes. Bushwacking - no. Congratulations to pleinjeu for getting the FTF prize (screwdriver tool keychain). It started out as a keychain exchange cache, but we have come to love geocoins and have now changed this to a geocoin exchange cache. Even if you don't have a geocoin to exchange, please pick one up to move along. Enjoy!
