Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the SD Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre, SD. The cache is of particular interest to children that are geocaching.

The cache is easy to find and therefore should be of particular interest to kids. With this in mind, we hope to keep it filled with trade items that interest kids making it a memorable cache for them. Remember to trade items, not just take them, so that the next person can have the fun of something new. The nearby Cultural Heritage Center is a place worth visiting. Its displays depict the history of South Dakota from before white settlement to the building of the dams along the Missouri River. The building itself is built into the ground in a manner not unlike the housing of the Arikara Indians along the banks of the Missouri River. The Center is open from 9 am to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday from Memorial Day to Labor Day and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. the rest of the year. It is also open from 1:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays and Holidays. The Center is free for children 17 and under. To get more information, including the information on the museum, click on the following: http://www.sdhistory.org/ The cache is a large baggie containing Cultural Heritage Center souvenirs and log book. It is accessible year round though can sometimes be impacted by weather, and is in a muggle heavy area.
