Actually it's more like 1504.68 as the crow flies.
I used to drive by a sign that said Denver 1700. It's right up the road from here. If you're heading west, you'll see it. Every time I'd see it I'd chuckle to myself. Why would anyone want to know that? I'd ask myself. Then I thought back to my childhood when my Dad would take several of my siblings on a road trip to his hometown of Ft. Collins, CO. If they had signs like that posted the whole way, we wouldn't have asked over and over, how much longer. And so we put this cache here.
