This is a small cache located on the Finger Lakes Trail system. This part of the park is still in the Watkins Glen State Park, but you do not have to pay to access this area. Very close to Watkins Glen International Racetrack. PLEASE NOTE: CACHE IS NOT IN THE ROCK WALL!
There is nothing spectacular about this cache except that it takes you through part of my “playground” growing up. To this day I love walking these trails and still find such beauty in them. The cache is hidden not to far down the trail from the parking coords, but please take the time to wander longer. I promise you will not regret it.
When walking to the cache you will pass a Finger Lakes Trail logbook station to your left at about 170 feet away from “ground zero”. Feel free to stop and sign in. Mention that you were geocaching or whatever strikes your fancy. It is a nice place to relax and take it all in. You just might read another log from a fellow geocacher here!
Parking coords are: N 42 21.832 W 076 54.642 located just off Whites Hollow Road. From here you will need to cross the road to pick up the this end of the trail. It is not far. You will see the sign that says RILEY'S ROAD Just around the corner look for State Park signs and White Trail Blazes. From this parking spot you can also access the following caches. If you keep hiking up the trail from this cache Kodi & Barney’s 1st cache (GCMH5B) and Where the Vultures Circle Over Head (GCWXEH). If you go the opposite direction from the parking spot you will find The Black Spot (GC4EA7) and depending on how far you want to walk to can also access Sacagawea Stumper (GC3FB5 ).
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THERE IS NO NEED TO REMOVE ANY STONES WHILE LOOKING FOR THIS CACHE. THIS CACHE IS NOT IN THE ROCK WALL!
