The location of the geocache may or not be the spot where the painter set up his easel...it's up to you to decide.
Weather permitting... try to get as many elements featured in the painting as you can into your photo ( shepherd boy with flock optional )

'From the Top of Cader Idris' by an unknown early 19th century painter shows the cliffs of Penygadair with Llyn y Gadair below... the coastal Rhinog mountains beyond the beautiful Mawddach estuary...and off in the far distance the Llyn Peninsular striking out into Cardigan Bay.
For your own safety please stay a safe distance from the edges.
There are many walk up routes...the three most popular being The Minffordd path which is moderately strenuous, starting from the old Idris estate on the south side of Cadair .
See OS Explorer Map OL23...or route information boards located near the start of the walk.
Or take the Pony Path...an easier family route on the North side of Cadair.
Or for the experienced hill walker...the strenuous Fox’s Path also starting on the North side...all routes have caches to bag along the way.

Found in the cache will be a rubber stamp (NOT FOR SWAP)
If you would like an impression of the image to take away with you, please remember to bring along an ink pad and paper.
TOP TIP- to get the best out of your visit... try to pick a clear day...a packed lunch with plenty to drink...just take your time and have fun!
