This is a walk up geocache. A plaque on the City Building commemorates the fountain. This quote appeared in the November 2002 newletter, The Front Porch; "The interactive fountain consists of four large granite pieces with water flowing over one surface of each piece in a different manner. The sculpture is set in a base of limestone, representing the importance of natural resources and the role they have played in the history of the City. One of the stones in the fountain is a representation of the “Big Rock,” once a favorite spot for local children swimming in Salt Creek. The original “Big Rock” has since been moved to the east lawn of the Elmhurst Historical Museum." Sculptor: Dan Kainz
On my visits to the Millenium Fountain I have seen children playing in the water much as they would long ago!
