Nice easy walk not too far from the road. Plenty of ivy and other plants including the odd nettle so take care. I was circled repeatedly by a lovely dragonfly too whilst taking GPS readings :)
This cache is the rebirth of Beware the Elementals. As the hiding location for Beware the Elementals has been flattened, I spent a good part of this afternoon searching for a new hiding place. Well to start with, the area that was supposed to be replanted as a red squirrel habitat is now just bare soil so that was out. Everywhere else was either sandy or would suffer a watery fate with any serious amount of rain.
So, just as I was about to give up I went wandering off the other side of the road and new instantly I was on to a winner.
This cache is just off the Trans Pennine Trail on the leg from Ainsdale to Formby. You WILL need to bring your brains as tree cover meant it took me long enough to get a reading let alone an accurate one and I couldn't get any better than 60ft accuracy.
The name, well that should be obvious when you get there. The area is reminiscent of the Martian weed from War of the Worlds..only its green!
The cache is not visible from the path so you will have to go routing, but please do your best to conceal the cache again as anyone else wandering off the path may spot it. It is a fairly large tupperware tub.
