The PJ07 Legacy “Remember Our Past” Bug Hotel was open for business on July 10, 2007 at the entrance to Camp Byng on opening day of the Pacific Scout Jamboree (PJ07) July 8 – 14, 2007. Kayaking, biking, exploring, camping, hiking, archery, sailing and an introduction to geocaching were some of the activities provided for the 3000 Jamboree attendees.
2007 is the Centenary of Scouting, and the 150th Anniversary of the birth of Scouting's founder Lord Baden Powell. We offer this cache as a celebration of Scouting and hope that in addition to providing a rest point for Travel Bugs and Geocoins travelling up and down British Columbia’s beautiful sunshine coast, that we can also collect many Scouting stories and memories in the cache logs. Camp Byng memories and stories of past Jamborees are especially welcomed. We are very sorry, but logs containing spoilers will be deleted.
The cache is also a launch point for our PJ07 Legacy Geocoins, We hope a few of our coins will make their way later in the Summer of 2007 to visit caches near both the Canadian Scout Jamboree in Quebec (CJ07), 21st World Scout Jamboree held near the birthplace of Scouting in the United Kingdom.
PLEASE MOVE ALL GEOCOINS FOUND IN GEOCACHE TO NEW CACHE. DO NOT TAKE COINS IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO MOVE THEM.
