Geocache Description:

This cache is located along the Red Cedar Trail. If you'd like to bike to the cache, you'll need a State Bike Trail Pass. They are available for purchase at the head of the trail, at the Depot, at Downsville trail rest stop or at the Creamery in Downsville.

The Red Cedar Trail is a beautiful trail that follows the Red Cedar River. It starts in Menomonie and eventually joins up with the Chippewa River Trail several miles before Durand. Eagles are often seen along this part of the river so bring along your camera. The bluffs are beautiful and climbing on them is discouraged. The cache is located just off the trail but you will need to climb up the hill a little way to get to the rocks/bluff. You do not need to climb the rocks! You might have to step over a couple of rocks but basically there is NO REASON to climb the rocks. My GPSr didn't like the rocks so the coordinates are probably off a little. Stand on the trail near the river with your GPSr and get a lock on GZ. Then go up the hill and look for a large rock with an overhang. Cache container is a lock n'lock 5" x 3" x 5". Camo colored too. Please make sure you put some smaller rocks in front of it when you are finished, otherwise the cache can be seen from the trail. Thanks!
