Geocache Description:

This is a trail of 7 caches following in the footsteps of Dylan Thomas and the theme of Under Milk Wood.
Dylan completed seven major poems as well as ‘Quite Early One Morning’ and a number of film scripts while living at Majoda.
Also while here he started to write ‘Under Milk Wood’ where he drew upon New Quay for the names of many of the characters and places according to the topography.

Plas Llanina was the home of Lord Howard de Walden a major patron of the arts in Wales. It is thought that Dylan first came here in the 1930’s when de Walden allowed him to write in the Apple House, a small stone cottage at the bottom of the mansion's walled garden, which is now in ruin.
The mansion used to be part of a thriving village, most of which has fallen into the sea.
The Church is well worth a visit too and is open to visitors, but be warned there are many ghost stories attached to the grave yard and mansion!
