So weren't you gonna buy half a gallon,
baby
I love rocky road
So have another triple scoop with me
This is probably the most difficult cache I'm ever going to
place. The cache itself is really easy to find, but it's
pretty darned tricky getting to it. If you're not very fit,
please do not attempt it.
The cache is a magnetic micro, tucked in just out of sight.
A few warnings:
NO doing it in the dark.
NO small children.
NO wet or windy weather.
NO sandals.
DO wear sunscreen and wear a hat.
DO bring lots of water.
DO use the buddy system.
DO keep something very cold to drink in your car for when
you're done.
There are zero indications that this area is off limits. There
is not a single "No Trespassing" or "Private Property" or "Do Not
Enter" sign. All the same, this terrain is fairly dangerous, and
you will need to be in at least fairly good shape and have a good
sense of balance to access the cache.
It took me approximately 20 minutes to get to the cache, and
another 20 minutes to return. Definitely remember the sunscreen,
keeping in mind that the sun's reflections off the water will
effectively double your exposure.
I highly recommend that you do not attempt this cache
alone.
This is just a short reminder to anybody wishing to try for this
cache. As winter arrives, you must consider the weather when
approaching this cache. During wet and/or icy conditions, do
not attempt. And due to its location, snow and ice may
linger just where you least expect it, well after it has melted
everywhere else.
I will not be disabling the cache for the winter, as the weather
in St. Catharines is notoriously variable, and we frequently get
extended warm spells. Just be warned that the direct approach can
be very dangerous when it is not warm and sunny.
