Who’s Playing on Court 50? OTL Series #3 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OMChops: I have replaced the containers for the last time. Too much activity either muggles or City workers removing cache containers. Someone else can have the island. I found a single travel bug in the remaining container, I will be moving it along this week.

Geocache Description:

Who’s Playing on Court 50? OTL Series #3

This cache is located in a special section of Fiesta Island on Mission Bay. This is a large sand lot, somewhat tucked away, that becomes the stage for over 1200 3 player teams that compete for the title of World Champions in a sport called Over-the-Line ™. The sport was devised by members of the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club over 54 years ago. Some of those “founding fathers” are still playing the game they invented. (visit link) for more info on the game)
This cache is the third is a series that will be named for various elements of the spectacle that IS OTL. This one is near where many teams end up when they are rude to the announcers for the tournament. With 50 courts available, the most desirable is court 21, right in front of the announcers, the least desirable, you guessed it, court 50.
An OTL related FTF prize will be included. The container is a plastic “lock n lock” could hold small trade items. Occasionally other OTL related items will appear in this cache.
The tournament is always the 2nd and 3rd weekends in July. The difficulty rating of this series will raise to 3/4 during those weekends as there are over 20,000 participants and spectators on the sand at all times of the day. I will probably disable them during the event. (Just try to be stealthy with hundreds of muggles breathing down your neck) The event is not kid friendly as the crowd is just too massive and there may be adult beverages consumed.
The rest of the year this stretch of sand is peaceful and seldom used. You may see kite flying and an occasional model rocket launch. Parking is readily available on the east side of the island, but the series will NOT be wheelchair accessible due to terrain (soft sand). This is a medium-sized container, camouflaged. Please re-hide well.
