It Meant A Great Deal Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

flossmoor: Pursuant to Flossmoor's Cache Consolidation Act, I'm archiving this cache.

It's gone, alright. Death by landscaper? Not entirely... but there have been some recent beautification efforts. The recent colorful and plentiful gang graffiti has been covered by a tragically off-shade color from that originally used on the walls. Much of the trash is also gone... and along with it, the ammocan.

I'm glad I had already recovered the cache camera, of which I just had the photos developed. These photos have been uploaded to the website. I started assigning names to faces, but I realized there were more I didn't know that those I did. Peruse and enjoy. My favorite photos feature the cache guardian, especially those taken by the two individuals who opted to put it in their mouth.

I often employ a "two strikes" policy, opting to replace a cache once and then archive if it disappears a second time. However I was already considering removing the cache when I saw all the gang graffiti during my most recent maintenance visit. Best let this one go. Besides: I've already had my fun with this one. [:D]

Thanks to Longerdog for tipping me off that this one is AWOL. You went above and beyond checking this one out for me.

Rats in peace. Admin: please archive this cache.

Geocache Description:

Ammobox cache with an unusual amount of open parking.

It's odd to see a closed grocery store in southwest Florida... particularly of this size.

Hey: at least you won't have to worry too much about being stealthy on this one. Conversely, you'll have to look elsewhere for refreshments.

One thing I thought was a bit odd was the number of "black boxes" (poison rat traps) remaining around the facility despite it being vacant for months. Don't worry, though: the cache is a green ammo box located FAR from the actual building. The nearest "black box" is hundreds of feet away... and hopefully the same goes for the rats.

Perhaps one of the better aspects of the location is that it will still be accessible regardless of new occupants or construction on the building.

The area within 20 feet of the cache has some CITO potential, if you are so inclined.
