The Black Darren is an outstanding geological feature on the eastern (English) side of the Hatteral Ridge
The Black Darren is the more striking on the two Darren's (the other being the Red Darren). The cache is located in a rock crevice up and is best approached from the Darren car park on the Mountain Road (N 51 57.807 W 003 01.409).
Rather than heading directly to the cache, head up to the right (signed Offa's Dyke) until the path splits (Red Darren to the right, left to the Black Darren). This will take you round the back of the Darren towards the cache.
The cache got it's inspiration from Crotty's Treasure, GC2580, a classic mountain cache in south east Ireland.
The cache itself is a lunchbox and contains some small goodies, a logbook and a pen. If you use the hint below, its probably got a difficulty of 1.5
There are some Red Hat cards, please leave in the cache until after 29th June 2007, as they are for a event
You can combine this cache with a number of other local caches, including the Olchon Brook, Along the Border and Worship with the Lollards
