The Denali Series: Gateway to
Denali
This ammo can cache is located at a scenic outlook just west of
the Brushkana BLM campground. On a clear day, the views of the
Alaska Range give the visitor a small glimpse of this section of
remote Alaska.
This cache was placed as part of a Father's Day 2007 Geocaching
Expedition to introduce visitors to the vast and unspoiled scenery
of remote Alaska. The terrain is a reflection of the difficulty in
reaching the cache location along gravel roads.
Original Contents included a log book and pencil, postcards,
scrimshaw bookmark, Denali pin, 2007 AK Geocaching pin, and various
other items..
Please use good judgement and planning when traveling the
Denali Highway. The weather can change quickly and services are
remote. Food, water, good tires, and a well maintained vehicle are
required. Many car rentals companies DO NOT allow their cars to
travel this road. The road surface does vary greatly based on
weather conditions and cell phone reception DOES NOT exist along
the 130 mile road.
