Geocache Description:

This cache is a 2.7 quart Lock & Lock container. It is on a old New York Central branch line. The Cache contains a lot of new items. This is not a kid friendly cache due to the condition of the old line.

This old New York Central line holds lots of memories for me. Years ago I belonged to a railcar club and this was our home line. We ran about 20 miles of this track with our rail cars every weekend. The line from Apex south is now not in use. There where alot of wonderful things with this line. The scenery, the old stations , wood lined tunnels, and wooden trestle bridges. Sadly the wood lined tunnel has been ripped out ,and the trestle bridges are in disrepair. This would have made a wonderful scenic rail road.

CAUTION! CAUTION! This is not a good cache for the kids! The one bridge that you need to cross has rotted ties ,and the little feet my slip between the ties. This bridge can be very easily crossed by any careful adult. DO NOT CROSS THE SECOND BRIDGE, IT IS NOT SAFE TO WALK ON!! The cache is not on or past the second bridge. Have fun and enjoy the quiet.
