A large, neat, and organized 40mm Ammo Box, aka the "anti-micro" cache, originally containing C-130 items and military patches. (FTF: Malcore)
BASED ON ACTUAL EVENTS . . . imagined being deployed to a Forward Operating Base (FOB) near the Afghanistan/Pakistan border. The only resupply means is by C-130 airdrop. Unfortunately, the FOB is too small to accomodate a drop zone (DZ) and one has been established a few "Klicks" from the FOB. The DZ, located on top of a hill, has been cleared of trees and was named . . .Lumberyard DZ. Your FOB is low on ammo, food, and water and has requested a C-130 airdrop the needed supplies to Lumberyard DZ. The crew stated they will use the FOB as the IP for the run-in to Lumberyard DZ. The C-130 also requested the DZ security detail mark the Point of Impact (PI) location with a Raised Angle Marker (RAM), and "pop" smoke when the C-130 is "Cleared To Drop". A security detail will have to proceed "outside the wire" through enemy territory to Lumberyard DZ. In addition, the security detail will have to secure the airdropped supplies and get it back to the FOB . . .while possibly taking fire from the enemy.
