Nordmarkitt Bakken Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Makuta Teridax: Hi

While I feel that should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Due to lack of response from the owner, this cache is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,
Makuta Teridax Volunteer Cache Reviewer

Geocache Description:

A little piece of Nordmarka in the center of town.

Welcome to Nordmarkitt Bakken!

The coordinates point to a noble beast carved from a noble piece of Nordmarkitt.

Nordmarkitt is the old fashion name for a ”quartz-bearing alkali
syenite that has a granite texture…” In 1890 the fameous Norwegian
geologist Waldemar Christofer Brøgger (1851 – 1940) named this
rock after Nordmarka where it is found in great abundance.

W.C. Brøgger was not only a fantastic geologist, but was a great statesman
who helped with the peaceful union breakup between the Norway and
Sweden. See geologists are good for something!

More about Brøgger can be found at W.C: Brøgger

To find the cache, find the date together with the designers name C. Borch.
Add the four numbers up to find “x”

The coordinates are then N59 54’(775+x)” E010 44’ (316+x)”

This is a log only cache, and modeled after Oslo-cache-magnetic-methods
Pioneered by the renowned Mostly Moose.
