Geocache Description:

Located on Ragged Mountain off the Eastern face of Mt Greylock in Adams Mass

Park at the end of Thiel road in Adams Mass. From the parking area you will have about a 35 to 40 minute hike to reach the cache all on trails. The time depends on the individual. ( It takes me 40 ). The cache itself is a medium sized Rubbermaid container (7 X 7 X 4 deep and has a log book, a camera, and some small trinkets. Feel free to take and/or leave a trinket and take a picture of yourself or your group. Please reseal container tightly. Enjoy! Starting from the parking area at the end of Thiel Road in Adams, take the trail(road) north, crossing Hoxie Brook. Continue on it past the large concrete foundation towards: 42° 38.199N; 073° 08.340W About here, the trail divides. Take the trail to the left (north), up a washed out road. Stay on this trail to about 42° 38.244N; 073 08.313W. keep watching on the left you should see a trail into the pines. Its pretty well defined, just follow it bearing slightly uphill and to the right. You will come to a steep uphill spot (20 feet or so). This will intersect with a very obvious trail. Turn left here towards: 42° 38.262N; 073° 08.441W Around this point you should see a path up the hill on the right for maybe 20 feet or so, then turns right. Take that trail north towards: 42° 38.504N; 073°08.382W. At about this point there will be a deep wash. Cross it, and take the lower fork leg on the other side. Follow it, towards: 42° 38.558N; 073° 08.339W. At this point you should be somewhere near The remains of a fallen tree. START LOOKING! You can use the tree as your focal point. The signal gets flakey in here, but the tree should help . The coords are the result of 3 separate tries. When you finish here go back up the trail and re-cross the wash. From there you can continue up the trail towards some other caches if you are interested.
