Geocache Description:

This is a good cache for day trippers and happy campers alike. The $6.00 summer season fee is required at the Rogers Rock Public Campground, but you can us it for a swim and a picnic in a lovely spot on Lake George after you find the cache.

The campground was opened to the public in 1947. It is named in honor of a Colonial ranger, Major Robert Rogers, who was the best british scout during the French & Indian War in the 1750's.

The cache is a plastic sandwich size Lock n Lock container. It has a lot of goodies from Vermont & upstate NY including a "Champ" shot glass, an Indian arrowhead, Ben & Jerry stuff and an Adirondack hiker pin for the FTF.

Park near campsites 210 or 212 and follow the faint trail up toward Rogers Rock Mountain. Though this is not a state-maintained trail, there are a few plastic orange blazes tied to saplings to mark the way. The cache is approximately a quarter mile up the trail and then to the left. GPS tend to act up here because of thick canopy.
