Geocache Description:

Attempted to modify from offset cache to single stage but approver had issues. You might think you are heading for Kansas with this one, but it's only 25 miles from Denver, and WELL WORTH the drive. When you arrive at the final co-ordinates, you will surely agree with Dorothy - "this isn't Kansas anymore Toto!" Cache is dedicated to the memory of Judy K. Spahn, some of her ashes lie within the animal enclosures!

While the final cache container originally held the requisite log book and trading items, it has been converted to a log only. The real treasures will be found nearby. The 720 acres behind the cache is home to over 450 large carnivores. Lions, Tigers, Black Bears and Grizzlies, Jaguars, Leopards, Mountain Lions, Lynx, Servals, Wolves, and even a Camel! This place is not a zoo - all of these creatures have been rescued from private ownership, and have been transported from usually awful conditions, to some pretty nice Colorado accomodations. Bring the whole family along on this cache hunt. You might be surprised by what you learn. You can nab a bunch of caches along the way and in the immediate area!

Access to the final is 24x7. Should you wish to observe wildlife, realize that most of the animals are nocturnal. Best time to visit Sanctuary is 3 hours before sunset, but animals can be seen during the day time as well. I took the following 3 photos here.
