Easy Caching Puzzle - NOT!
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache is NOT at the given coordinates. It should be a
straightforward pickup, though, in regard to both solving the
puzzle and finding the cache. You'll need to bring your own pen.
Grab some paper and a pencil, because you'll be doing a little
drawing. Graph paper might help if you have some, and a ruler might
too. You can probably work things out well enough, though, with
plain paper and your best estimation of distance and location.
Below is a list of endpoints for 15 line segments, given in
Cartesian coordinates. Simply draw the lines to work out the puzzle
solution.
1. (-2,2) to (0,3)
2. (-2.5,0) to (-2,-2)
3. (4,3) to (8,3)
4. (-4,-3) to (-4,3)
5. (2,2) to (0,3)
6. (0,-3) to (-2,-2)
7. (-8,3) to (-4,-3)
8. (2.5,0) to (2,2)
9. (10,4) to (-10,-4)
10. (6,3) to (6,-3)
11. (0,-3) to (2,-2)
12. (-8,3) to (-8,-3)
13. (-2,2) to (-2.5,0)
14. (2.5,0) to (2,-2)
15. (10,-4) to (-10,4)
If you draw a blank on the term "Cartesian coordinates", search for
it in Wikipedia. Many of you will have worked with them before.
Figure 1 will tell you all you need to know to solve the puzzle;
the rest is extraneous (and might be unnecessarily confusing) for
what is needed here.
Good luck!
