Geocache Description:

A short but semi-difficult trip from the roadside. Not much in the way of trails but not too overgrown.

You are looking for a medium sized plastic container which holds items that pertain to the historic significance of Vincennes, Indiana and its role in the American Revolutionary War.

Close to this cache is the land known as the French Commons, where the Spirit of Vincennes Rendezvous is held each Memorial Day weekend. The two day festival commemorates the capture of Ft. Sackville from the British by Lt. Col. George Rogers Clark and his band of frontiersmen. Hence the name of the cache. More information on this topic can be found at: www.spiritofvincennes.org or www.nps.gov/gero/

Vincennes, founded in 1732 is Indiana’s oldest city and is steeped in history. To that end, this cache contains several souvenir items that relate to that history.
