This cache has been archived.

Wiildrose: Well, it appears that Derek & Keri have sold their property. I am saddened to hear this, as they were SO excited about their new Iris gardens. Thanx to all who visited.

Geocache Description:

This is the WilsonFully Iris Test Garden. Derek & Keri bought out the Iris Test Gardens of St. John (Where the Red Flag Grows ORIGINAL), and are slowly transplanting the irises from there to their farm/orchard here. It's definately a huge project, but one done with great enthusiasm & care. I'm really EXCITED about this place! It's taken me a year to find the new location, but it was well worth the wait. This place is much more than I ever expected. They have orchards of trees with apples, peaches, etc, berries, corn & many other crops. There's a creek running through the area, and they're planning a pond & waterfall. The dwarf Iris bed that they've just finished is beautifully placed, with rocks & trees surrounding it. The big field that's being planted now and in the continuing future is going to be lovely. You'll see all of the flowers blooming down below as you drive in, with the creek & orchards and other crops all around it.

There is a seasonal fruit stand here, and they're also planning a gift shop in the future. This whole place just gives you a peaceful feeling, and that's when the irises AREN'T blooming! I just wanted to sit down & relax for a spell.

I will put a note on this cache page when the irises start blooming next spring. I am going to make a SPECIAL trip down just to visit again, and I'm sure it's going to turn into a yearly event for me. I want to thank Derek & Keri for being kind enough to allow a geocache on their property. Please be respectful when visiting the cache.
