lindsychris: No point to fixing this one up since the whole point behind it was the picture requirement. Glad to hear so many people had fun with this one!

** THIS IS NOT A TRADITIONAL CACHE **

It's a Jungle Out There!

To date, one of our all time favorite caches is Sea Creature Safari by kiawa.  We've been planning on creating a cache based on her idea, and while in Raleigh for GW5, we found the perfect "bucket o' foamies."  The result is this cache.  In order to log a find, you must:

  1. Find the traditional 30 caliber ammo can that is hidden at the coordinates above.  The ammo can contains a log book, traditional swag, and a special bag of safari cards and a glue stick.  Somewhere, near the ferocious ammo can are five smaller Lock N Lock containers filled with other wild beasts.  In order to claim a smiley, you must find, and tame, at least four of these animals.
  2. Sign the log book and make your trades.
  3. Take a safari card and begin your adventure!  As you tame each animal, you will need to glue it on to the official safari card. Please take only ONE animal from each container unless you are completing more than one safari card!  Once you've tamed at least four different animals, please put the glue stick back into the ammo can and take your safari card with you.  When you log your find, you must include a picture of your completed safari card.  (Please note, for caching groups with more than one child--or child at heart, please feel free to allow each child to tame the animals.  For all others, please just take one card/set of animals per group.)  Logs without photographs may be deleted.
  4. Use the clues below to assist you on your journey.  Rest assured, your journey will not be long, nor difficult, and you do not need to travel to the other side of the trail.  Remember, you are only required to find four of the five animals, but feel free to tame the fifth animal as well.  We don't want too many wild animals roaming around South Park!

To tame the elephants:  Travel to the broken end of the "ammo can" tree.  The elephants are caged in a small/medium sized rectangular Lock N Lock.

To tame lions:  Stand at the elephant cage facing the ammo can.  The lion cage can be found at "3 o'clock" about 10 feet away.  The lion cage is a small rectangular Lock N Lock.

To tame the giraffes:  Look at the root end of the naked tree.  The giraffes are caged in a small rectangular container.

To tame the monkeys:  Stand at the ammo can facing the road.  The monkeys are hiding at the first standing tree at "9 o'clock."  Their cage is a small round Lock N Lock.

To tame the large assorted wild and ferocious animals:  Travel half way up the naked tree.  These wild animals are caged in in a flat rectangular Lock N Lock. PLEASE TAKE ONLY ONE ANIMAL FROM THIS CONTAINER! There are several different types of animals in the cage. Please take only one ANIMAL per safari card!!!

Please note, all animals are caged in camoflauged containers, but the containers are meant to be easy to find for cachers.  However, they are all hidden very near a trail, so please make sure that they are hidden from view so that future finders may enjoy the fun and excitement of taming these beasts!
